The Rev. Ken Chambers, pastor of West Side Missionary Baptist Church, will host a Community Meeting on Coal at the church one half block from Main Post Office on 7th Street near the West Oakland BART station.

Many of our No Coal In Oakland high school activists will speak to the council on why they don't want coal in Oakland.  Backing them up will be health care providers: Doctors, Nurses, Public Health officials and other health care workers who will be talking about the toxic effects of coal on the human body.  […]

No Coal In Oakland is supporting the Oakland Justice Coalition canvass effort. Along with NCIO flyers and petitions, you can also support three initiatives--giving the Citizen's Police Review Board real power, fighting exorbitant rent hikes with improved rights for tenants and raising the Oakland minimum wage.
