City Council Open Forum

April 5, 2016 @ 5:30 pm - 6:30 pm

Many of our No Coal In Oakland activities occur at the Oakland City Council’s Open Forum. Since coal will not be on the agenda on April 5, this is an opportunity to speak to council members at Open Forum and remind them of our opposition to coal. Open Forum is always the first item on the agenda. We need you to speak. You can sign up to speak by filling out the form at this link:

On the form enter your name,  the date of 4/5/16,   ‘open’ in the “Item Number”,  ‘City Council’ as the choice for “Comm/CouncilName”  and finally ‘Yes’ as the choice for “Wish to Speak Concerning this Item.”

After entering your speaker card form, you will get a confirmation number that you should bring with you to the meeting. Only 15 people usually have a chance to speak at the beginning of the meeting. If more are signed up they will be able to speak when Open Forum continues at the end of the agenda.

There will be many interesting topics on the council agenda April 5.

PLEASE SPEAK.  We need as many people as possible letting the Council know how many of us are concerned enough to come to the Council Meeting.

Coal may be on the agenda of the 4/19 meeting of the City Council.
