Berkeley City Council: Resolution Opposing Coal
Save the date!
On September 15, 2026, the Berkeley City Council will vote on adoption of a “resolution opposing the handling, storage, and transport of coal and petroleum coke in the San Francisco Bay Region, urging stringent regulation of such facilities by the Bay Area Air District, and in support of Assembly Bill (AB) 40.” The resolution is sponsored by Councilmembers Igor Tregub (Author), Rashi Kesarwani (Co-sponsor), and Terry Taplin (Co-sponsor).
Berkeleyans active in the Keep Coal Out of the East Bay coalition are organizing an event outside the City Council meeting … that we hope will conclude with a celebration of the resolution’s passage.
