Climate Change and Labor: Challenges and Opportunities
How will the transition to a low-carbon economy affect union members?

The League of Women Voters of Berkeley, Albany, and Emeryville, and three Bay Area chapters of the Citizens’ Climate Lobby will host a forum that considers the impacts that a transition to a low-carbon economy will have on workers, their families, and communities.

A panel of 4 labor union leaders and 2 climate policy experts will look at at the effects of climate-related policy on unionized labor. They will also examine policies and strategies that can best serve all workers.

A question and answer period will immediately follow the panel discussion. Attendees are encouraged to arrive at 6:30 to meet and mingle, and stay after the Q&A for follow-up conversations. Snacks and refreshments will be served.
