DESCRIPTION:Climate Change and Labor: Challenges and Opportunities\nHow will the transition to a low-carbon economy affect union members? \nThe League of Women Voters of Berkeley\, Albany\, and Emeryville\, and three Bay Area chapters of the Citizens’ Climate Lobby will host a forum that considers the impacts that a transition to a low-carbon economy will have on workers\, their families\, and communities. \nA panel of 4 labor union leaders and 2 climate policy experts will look at at the effects of climate-related policy on unionized labor. They will also examine policies and strategies that can best serve all workers. \nA question and answer period will immediately follow the panel discussion. Attendees are encouraged to arrive at 6:30 to meet and mingle\, and stay after the Q&A for follow-up conversations.
