SUMMARY:Youth vs Coal invites support at Tagami's Rotunda Building
DESCRIPTION:Oakland’s own Youth vs Coal announced a dramatic action asking Phil Tagami to decide which side he is on: youth vs. coal. The action is on Friday August 4th\, and “people of all ages are welcome to come support” the group. Here in their own words: \nThe fight against coal is not over. Developer Phil Tagami says he is a supporter of youth\, but he is trying to force Oakland to be polluted by coal. \nNext Friday\, August 4th at 11 am\, youth will be at Phil Tagami’s Rotunda building\, 300 Frank Ogawa Plaza\, trying to fight for our right to clean air. We will be performing a scene that will be asking Phil Tagami to decide where we are heading and which side he is on: youth v. coal. \nWe don’t want his lawsuit for coal for many reasons: \n1. Coal is a toxin and gives people asthma attacks.\n2. You are burning our place down with climate chaos.\n3. We don’t want Trump’s government to make the rules for Oakland.\n4. The city has better things to spend money on than this. \nIf you want to participate and work with other youth to get your voice heard please contact us at youthvcoal@gmail.com. \nFor more info on our group and position\, please check out: www.facebook.com/YouthvsCoal \nFor background on the issue check out: https://nocoalinoakland.info/ \nPeople of all ages are welcome to come support! \nPlease come out to support Oakland’s youth in their fight for their health and future!

SUMMARY:Tagami interview for Police Commission
DESCRIPTION:Phil Tagami’s interview for a seat on the civilian Oakland Police Commission will be on Tuesday\, August 8 at 7:00 pm at Oakland City Hall. We need you to attend. The selection panel needs to know that he is not fit to serve on the Police Commission. \nCoal promoter and developer Phil Tagami is currently a candidate for a position on Oakland’s Police Commission. No Coal in Oakland is horrified at the prospect that this man—who proposes to bring toxic coal into Oakland and has sued the City to overthrow its popular ban on coal—could be chosen to represent residents on a city commission that will provide civilian oversight of the Police Department by reviewing and proposing changes to Department policies and procedures\, requiring the Mayor to appoint any new Chief of Police from a list of candidates provided by the Commission\, and having the authority to terminate the Chief of Police for cause. \nMore info: Tagami Police Commission interview: join NCIO Tuesday at 7pm
